Im looking for a good Pale Ale recipe, something around the 4% mark. Got any good ones I can try?

Summer Sunshine Smash (Pale Ale)

Original Gravity (OG): 1.040 (°P): 10.0
Final Gravity (FG): 1.010 (°P): 2.6
Alcohol (ABV): 3.93 %
Colour (SRM): 3.1 (EBC): 6.1
Bitterness (IBU): 22.7 (Average)

100% Pale Malt

1.3 g/L Celeia (5% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (First Wort)
0.7 g/L Celeia (5% Alpha) @ 15 Minutes (Boil)
1.3 g/L Celeia (5% Alpha) @ 30 Minutes (Aroma)
1.1 g/L Celeia (5% Alpha) @ 5 Days (Dry Hop)


Single step Infusion at 67°C for 60 Minutes. Boil for 60 Minutes

Fermented at 19°C with Safale US-05

Notes: Water additions to G W recommendations for Sweet Pale Ale.

You can't beat a good old cascade pale ale. It's a classic.

23L brew length

4Kg of pale malt
150g wheat malt or torrefied wheat for head retention
500g of munich malt to give a bit of malt back bone

All cascade on the hops
25g at 60 minutes
25g at 15 mins
25g at 5 mins
25g at flame out

4.3% alcohol for 72% efficiency
34 IBU

Use us05 to bring the hops out or WLP 001

Add Amarillo, Centennial or Chinook late on for variation. But you can't go wrong. Load up the hops at flame out. Try New Zealand cascade which is even nicer IMO.

500,00 gm Cara-Pils/Dextrine (3,9 EBC) Grain 6,61 %
500,00 gm Wheat, Torrified (3,3 EBC) Grain 6,61 %
80,00 gm crystal extra dark (400,0 EBC) Grain 1,06 %
90,00 gm Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (118,2 EBC) Grain 1,19 %
32,00 gm Target [12,50 %] (60 min) (First Wort Hop) Hops 25,6 IBU
19,00 gm Fuggles [3,80 %] (15 min) Hops 2,3 IBU
19,00 gm Fuggles [3,80 %] (5 min) Hops 0,9 IBU
2 Pkgs SafAle English Ale (DCL Yeast #S-04) Yeast-Ale
