Just brought a vial of WLP810 San Francisco Lager Yeast , making a California common with Rye malt for distinctive flavour, also got northern brewer hops for an anchor steam thing so will be keeping close tabs on this...

I use lots of cold steam in all of my brews. :)

Dave, sorry for the late reply...

The English Steam Bitter turned out even better than the California Steam Larger. An Excellent session ale with a sweet malt base overlaid by a classic british hop profile, but a clean-drinking moreish taste. The head was a little excessive from the King Keg at first, so no need for a sparkler. I will be brewing this again.

I used Wyeast 2112 (California Larger) yeast for both brews at 18C. I believe this is the Anchor Brewery yeast and is good to use at this temperature.
