Here you go. I had to guess at the darkness of your crystal malt, but this should give what you're looking for.
6 ½ lb 85.2% Marris Otter
½ lb 6.6% cane sugar
¼ lb 3.3% crystal 50-60L
¼ lb 3.3% oats (just cheap rolled, flaked, of Scotch from your kitchen)
1/8 lb 1.6% black wheat malt
.75 oz Northern Brewer 60 minutes
1 oz Goldings 30 minutes
1 oz Cascade 10 minutes
I'd bake the crystal and black malt in the oven a bit before crushing to wake up the caramelly, bready aromas. Pinch of calcium carbonate in mash. Pinch of gypsum in boil kettle. Ferment with your favorite classic English ale yeast. Try to resist dry-hopping this one, that's not how the beers you mentioned are done.
OG ≈1.045, IBU ≈41, SRM ≈12, ABV ≈4.5
Cheers and keep us posted on your results!
