Where are you getting them from for that price? Worcester Hop Shop is £2.41/100g for whole leaf and The Home Brew Shop is £3.12/100g for pellets.

I have been participating in this hobby for a very long time and I would admonish you guys to never start trying to figure out how much it costs you to brew a batch. First of all, once you get good at it you will for sure save money over the commerical stuff for a comperable brew. The main thing though is that society benefits because you are at home brewing as versus running around causing trouble in the world, priceless. :D
Drinking:Saison (in bottles), Belgian Dubbel (in bottles), Oud Bruin (in bottles), Olde Ale (in bottles),
Abbey Triple (in bottles), Munich Helles, Best Bitter (TT Landlord clone), English IPA
Conditioning: Traditional bock bier, CAP
Fermenting: Munich Dunkel
Next up: Bitter (London Pride like), ESB
So many beers to make, so little time (and cold storage space)

Which Mauribrew yeast? Mauribrew English Ale Y514 or Mauribrew Weiss Y1433? What was your fermentation temperature, and how quickly did it reach final gravity?

mauribrew english ale Y514 fermented low around 15oc-16oc took a good week and a bit to get down to 1010-1009. tastes ok but none what so ever taste of cascade even after using 300grams of them in this brew, never using that yeast again its took all the flavour out of the beer and left me with melon tasting beer absolute shite

Hmm, interesting. Melon esters might be interesting if desired and done correctly, but no one wants an ale yeast which mutes hops. Odd. It wasn't even a particularly fast fermentation, which is a main selling point. Thanks for the feedback.

My first thought when you said "melon" was it might be an interesting yeast for a beer with a tropical fruit salad vibe, along the lines of Samuel Adams (Barrel Room Collection) New World Tripel or Odell Myrcenary Double India Pale Ale. Sounds like you'd have to use copious amounts of hops high in Myrcene, though, if the yeast is prone to mute them...
