Hop Burst Blend - Combination Suggestions

I'm planning a very hoppy IPA using American hops brewed to 5 imperial gallons. I was planning on adding a few IBUs worth of Magnum at the start of the boil and then hop bursting at 15 mins, 10 mins, 5 mins, 1 min and 80 degC steep and dry hop as well. I want something very hoppy. The plan was to make a hop burst blend with equal quantities of a few hop varieties and add them at each of the additions.

I have 100 g each of Amarillo, Centennial and Cascade.

Would they work well together?

Would any of them be lost with one of the others?

Does blending them together make for a good end result?

Would you add the whole 300 g or reserve a bit back for another brew?

I have blended cascad and centennial to good effect, but I think it's considered a bit 'old school' these days...

I lied actually I have 200 g of Amarillo and 200 g of Centennial but I'm saving some of each for some Seymour recipes I've taken a fancy to.

I have a brew fermenting that used most of those hops . I used Warrior for bittering to an estimated IBU of 26 @ 60 mins then
Centennial 15 min.
Simcoe 10 min.
Amarillo Gold 5 min.
Centennial 0 min.
Warrior 0 min.
It smells awesome , I can't wait to taste it in a few weeks. It has an estimated 63 IBU according to promash. It will be dryhopped with Amarillo and possibly Centennial in keg.

Those three hops will go fantastically well together, in any combinations, in any amounts. You can't really overhop an IPA with flavour, just watch your IBUs.

Recently, I've started using only two flavour/aroma varieties in my hoppy beers - the theory is that I'll be better able to taste both varieties and how they complement each other. My personal favourite at the moment is Amarillo and Columbus - two very different American hops but they're perfect partners. One is very fruity and citrussy, the other is really catty and piney.

Go for it, you can't go wrong really.

I agree as above they all work together,although I would use the cascade for bittering, and the centennial and amarillo for aroma. Your ibu is definitely the key for me to this, style putting hops in for hops sake doesn't necessarily make a good ipa its when you add them. To many of these brews are simply to bitter and using large amounts of expensive high AA hops for bittering for me is a, waste of time and money. You want to get the aroma and flavor of these fantastic hops not a mouth puckering experience.
Plenty dry hops and late editions if you can hop back this will also add to the flavor.

I put a recipe together in Beersmith last night starting with just a few IBUs of magnum as first wort hops. I've gone for late additions of 14 g of each (about 0.5 oz) at 15 mins, 10 mins, 5 mins, 0 mins and dry hop. This puts the IBUs in the mid ball park for an American IPA according to Beersmith. I'm not a fan of over bitter so I'm trying to be conscious of this when putting together the recipe.

I think one of the main things for me was that all of the hops would go together and one wouldn't get to lost in the others. I didn't want to put them in for the sake of it unless I was going to get something out of it in the finished beer.

What would be the benefit of using the cascade for bittering? Would I notice much of a difference if I used that instead of magnum?

Would it be more beneficial to add the different hops at each of the different additions rather than together?

I think Magnum would be good in this beer. If it were mine, I'd stick to the original plan.

I was just going to go with 95% maris otter and 5% light crystal. Wanted to keep the grain bill simple and make it all about the hops. I've got plans for an American amber and a mild for something a bit more malty.
