Christmas Ale/Winter Warmer malt extract recipe

Apologies if this is a little late (or early) for brewing a xmas ale, but it is tried and tested and I feel that this is a good beer. The only thing I would change slightly is reduce the amount of Orange zest to 75% of the original recipe.

The beer is spicy/nutty/orangey and around the 5% mark. Worth a try!

Note: I was trying to use up my misc sugars left in the cupboard, hence the variety.

Sugars:
Dried malt extract – Pale 1kg – start of boil
Dextrose – 500g - start of boil
Dried malt extract dark 150g– start of boil
Liquid malt extract – pale 1.5kg – at knockout

Malts:
30g chocolate malt
150g Light crystal malt

Hops:
22g fuggle 6.1%aa – 60mins
24g target- 10.7% aa – 60 mins (did intend to use fuggle instead of target, but ran out of fuggle)
10g challenge 8% aa – 15mins
5g challenger 10.7% aa – 0 mins

Misc ingredients:
2 cinommon sticks – 15 mins
20g ground nutmeg – 15 mins
Zest of 4 oranges (would recommend reduce to 3) – 15 mins
Nottingham ale yeast

Og 1.44 - Fg 1.006 (4.9% ABV)
EBC – 28
EBU – 45

Bottled with Dark DME

Enjoy!!!!!
