Cherry Stout all grain recipe?

Post by DC » Tue Jan 15, 2013 6:02 pm

Hi all, I am looking at having a go at brewing a Cherry Stout after trying a few pints of Cherry Stout brewed by the The Nook Brewhouse http://www.perfectpint.co.uk/real-ale-b ... erry-Stout whilst in Whitelocks Bar in Leeds at the end of last year for a Real Ale weekend.

I have a basic Stout Recipe which I brew which is quite good but I would like to make a Cherry stout and was wondering what quantity of cherries to add to the brew and in what form? Would I be better off using whole cherries or cherry juice or concentrate/cordial? Do they go in the mash or boil or primary FV or secondary FV?

Any help greatly received [-o<

Cheers DC
