Good luck with your own hops Reaper.
I planted a Prima Donna last Spring, no hops last summer but am hopeful for this year. It's First Gold variety isn't it? Badger do a single varietal brew. As for 4 brews in a week, do they all come good at the same time? That's a party I'd like an invite too! Festival At Barley Bottom!

Prima Donna is First Gold, Ive had my plants for 2 years, the first year we moved house so I had to cut them back so no hops that year. Last year I got a nice crop there enought for a few brew.
As for the 4 brews yes its party time, It my birthday on the 12th March, Think we might have a knees up the weekend before. Our last party in October I had 7 Beers on, a mini beer festival.

Re: Prima Donna Pale Ale
Hi there, I was wondering if you could help me out with an extract recipe for this ale? I've only done a few kit brews so far but am hoping to grow some prima donna hops and try a brew, but don't have the kit (or knowledge!) for an AG brew. Thanks

That's right. For whatever reason, the same dwarf cultivar:Reaper wrote:Prima Donna is First Gold...
1. was given the "botanical" name Prima Donna within the context of the plant which is grown for landscaping and hedgerow purposes, sold at garden centers, plant nurseries, etc, and...
2. was given the "brewing varietal" name First Gold within the context of the flowers/cones which are used to make beer.
So, just a quibble, but technically this beautiful beer should be called "First Gold Pale Ale." Whatever you call it though, I'd certainly order a couple pints.
