Porter recipe

Post by Fido97 » Sun Jun 09, 2013 2:54 pm

Hi, I have in mind brewing a traditional English Porter but with a modern twist. I heard that some pro brewers (Eg Meantime) throw in some actual cooking chocolate? Not sure about that, but anyone got any pointers? Thanks in advance.

Not sure entirely what you want but if you are curious about what you can add to a porter, take a look at this list. Coincidentally, I was reading this last night.

Salivating at the thought of that one mate.

I'm a BIG fan of porters. Stouts seem to get all the glory, but I rekon that a nice porter with the chocolate and coffee notes and none of the roasty toasty nonsense is the way forward. In fact, I might just kibosh a beer I've been planning just to try this!
