York Breweries Minster Ale?

Does anyone have a recipe for this? it's lovely but not too strong. a good bitter session ale.

Their website lists some of the ingredients for some of their brews, but not this one...

Could it be the same as their York Terrier? Described as a golden-amber bitter, 4.2% ABV, with Pale and Crystal Malts, and Challenger hops. That sounds like it would match the description of Minster as well. They sometimes use Styrian Goldings/Celeia aroma hops in other brews, perhaps adding that here would make the difference. Ratebeer descriptions of York Minster say things like flowery, citrusy, lemony, earthy, which sounds like Challenger & Styrian Goldings/Celeia to me...

Best of luck!

They arn't the same, Terrior is a lighter and nicer beer than Minster.

Interesting. Well, just a guess based on their other recipes: perhaps Minster uses a higher percentage of Crystal Malt and possibly some Chocolate malt. I wouldn't overdo it, though, since it's just a medium orange-amber colour.

I thought Terrier a bit bland compared to Minster, but everybody's different, eh Mick? :-)

it's an interesting guessing game, eh?

Compare with Saltaire Brewery who'll gladly give the grain bill percentages, and the hops - but not the percentage or timings - on every bottle.
I have a recipe for a chocolate stout that, according to my mate Steve, is very close to their Triple Chocoholic. "But smoother", he says... and this was a blind tasting...
