I brewed the beer outlined below in honor of a golden retriever named Drake who passed from this world last weekend. He was a great family dog. Please feel free to substitute domestic malt products for the Briess products and real EKG for the U.S. Goldings.

Note: One will donate approximately 0.25US gallons to the hops gods for the privilege of using whole-cone hops, which means that one will only collect around 3.25US gallons of wort.

0.5oz Whole-Cone Magnum 16.5% AA (90 minute boil)
1.0oz Whole-Cone U.S. Goldings 4.7% AA (15 minute boil)
1.0oz Whole-Cone U.S. Goldings 4.7% AA (0 minute boil)
Irish Moss: 1tsp (30 minute boil)
Yeast: 300ml Brewlab Devon 1 (stepped from 40mls and grown on a stir plate for a higher cell count)

Looks like a great brew fella! My condolences about Drake! We lost our lad Ripley (Border collie/black lab) earlier this year! It's a sad time!

I have been wanting to find a way to work some Thomas Fawcett Pale Chocolate Malt into a brew. I haven't brewed a beer that contained roasted malt in a long time.
