'Tis Ale

Post by bigdave » Mon Dec 30, 2013 1:29 pm

My pregnant darling wife is craving bitter shandy and I really cant bring myself to buy another 4 pack of John Smiths so she's given me the green light to brew... As long as it's (in her words..) "a normal beer I can have shandy with and not one of those funny ones you make!"

So, tomorrow I'll be brewing "Tis Ale" based loosely on a Yorkshire Bitter recipe.. with a few alterations

Grain
3.75kg Pale Malt
0.35kg Torrified Wheat
0.20kg Special B Malt
0.10kg Pale Chocolate

Hops
25g Challenger 60min
20g WGV 10min
10g WGV 0min

Yeast
Whatever Wilko have got in this afternoon, likely Notty (both LHBS are closed)

Beer Profile
OG - 1.046
FG - 1.010
ABV - 4.7 %
30.3 IBUs
28.8 EBC
