Fruit Bat - A.B.V 4.5% A straw coloured beer, malty and fruity, lightly hopped and tasting of Raspberries.
This Beer is brewed using Pearl Pale Malt, Wheat Malt, Challenger Hops and Golding Hops.
We remember it being slightly sweet and almost tasting of chocolate..but not in a chocolate-malt kind of way. It was certainly very full-flavoured, slightly chewy, fruity, light in body but not in mouthfeel (I think), but very well balanced and very drinkable.
Does anyone have a recipe for something like this, or some pointers on formulating one? I'm about to go into all-grain and have some MO and wheat malt on the way, and I already have Goldings and will buy some Challenger (any excuse for more hops!). I'm not quite sure if any crystal is needed - was thinking pale and wheat on their own would be a bit too pale? I'm guessing IBUs would be around the 25-30 range with a lot of late hopping, and the mash would be at a higher temp to give greater residual sweetness?
Any advice much appreciated
