Want something nice and refreshing in time for summer but ingredients and cash are a bit tight.
I've got some MO so wondered if I could use that for a lager? I'm planning a coopers cerveza kit so was going to get some extra hops for that, Saaz etc so could use them for both.
Looking for something like Sam Adams Boston lager.
Cheers for any input
Trying to make a lager
Re: Trying to make a lager
Could you just clarify - are you brewing from extract or grain?
Are you looking to add the MO to the Coopers kit (in which case it likely is MO malt extract)?
If you have temperature control for your fermentation, you could look for a genuine lager yeast and ferment at low temperatures.

Sorry mate, planning two brews, a kit for the cerveza plus some additional hops and then an all grain for the Boston lager style. Just wondered if I could do a lager only using mo
Re: Trying to make a lager
Ah, OK. You can make perfectly acceptable lager with MO. You won't need to do a decoction mash either.gibbiem wrote:Sorry mate, planning two brews, a kit for the cerveza plus some additional hops and then an all grain for the Boston lager style. Just wondered if I could do a lager only using mo

Cool. And would the hops for a Boston lager clone work nice with a coopers cerveza kit too?
Re: Trying to make a lager
I don't know what those hops are, but sInce the Cerveza kit is a lager type beer and the Boston is a lager clone, I'd be surprised if they weren't OK.gibbiem wrote:Cool. And would the hops for a Boston lager clone work nice with a coopers cerveza kit too?
