Hello,
Since graduating to AG brewing I thought I would use a Nelson's Revenge kit up by making an All grain beer then splitting it into 2 FV and adding a can of malt extract, getting 2 beers out of 1 mash. In the armoury I have
5kg Maris Otter
Challenger Hops
Fuggles
Goldings
2 packs of Gervin Ale yeast
I thought about doing a Nelson's Bitter- following Graham Wheelers Adnam's bitter recipe and then splitting it.
Any ideas? Many thanks!
Advice for Nelson's Revenge kit/All grain beer
Re: Advice for Nelson's Revenge kit/All grain beer
I'm currently boiling up:
3kg of maris otter malt
19g Challenger 90min
15g Golding's 15min
I was wondering if I should add the 2 cans of extract to the boil at end and then split into 2 FV or add the LME into the FV after cooling the wort. I suppose it won't make much difference, probably easier adding to the boiler though.
I'm going to call it Nelson's Bitter.

If you add it at the end of the boil the extract will mix in much better.FarmerFred wrote:I'm currently boiling up:

I'm just here for the beer.

Thanks that's what I ended up doing. Seems to have worked out well. Nice to get 2 fv full of beer from one brew session. Although the AG tasted much better before addition of LME
