I raise a toast to an England comeback!
Since Hodgson is a name on everyone's lips, you may wanna brush-up on your George Hodgson brewing history. Here are two great articles by Martyn Cornell:

There was another brewer called F. Hodgson at Kingston, who was also a Member of Parliament from 1824-47. Here's one of his recipes I came across. Sure looks delicious to me:
Kingston 1830 Amber Ale
F. Hodgsons' Kingston Brewery (historic)
OG: ≈1060
Grainbill: 48% Pale, 48% Amber Malt, 4% Brown Malt
Bittering hops: Fuggles
Aroma hops: Goldings
IBU: ≈40?
Colour: brown
Yeast: an historic strong-attenuating English ale strain, unsure which exact strain, perhaps similar to Burton-type?

Ha, good one!barry44 wrote:Any Costa Rican recipes Seymour?

No, sorry, I don't think I've even tasted any Costa Rican beers. I've had lots of other Latin American beers, though. Mostly pretty terrible or at best tasteless. It's not their fault, really. Many of those are struggling economies, with almost no access to good, fresh, locally-grown brewing ingredients, lab-testing, advanced temperature and quality controls, etc. Nor can they afford to let it condition long. At the risk of sounding xenophobic: in most Latin American emerging markets, cerveza isn't about taste as much as a sanitary, cold, thirst-quenching, extremely carbonated refreshment...and cheap buzz. England wins the Beer World Cup, no contest.

I bet most Costa Rican beer recipes go like this: relatively high-nitrogen 6-row barley pale malt, huge percentage of pre-gelatinized corn or corn syrup, high-alpha hop extract, and Heineken lager yeast, served green.
