I am getting better results adding steeping hops to my hopback instead. I am currently experimenting with dry hopping instead of adding to secondary or keg. I added to the primary when almost complete & left warm for 4 days then crash cooled & left another week. This seems to be the preferred method if you look at http://probrewer.com/ forum :D :D

The down side of all the methods mentioned is that much of the aroma oils evaporate, as mentioned this can be counteracted by adding large amounts.

The advantage of a hop back is that as it is done in a sealed container and then cooled so there in no evaporation.

Is it better than dry hopping? using the same amount of hops it is imo, and I feel it has the advantage of adding flavour as well.

If you are a hophead why not do all three :D

Dry hopping in secondary? Or in the keg? They seem to give me far more aroma than late additions, even steeping.

This is the way I do it - Gives better aroma flavour than making late additions or even using a hopback IMO.

I've used a randle a few times, but you need to be a serious hophead for this - I must get round to posting some pics...

That’s a serious bit of kit, did you make it your self or can you buy them?
