light refreshing summer ale
Am looking for something about 4% for the summer. Anyone got a decent yet simple recipe. I have most things readilly available.
Re: light refreshing summer ale
A simple cascade SMASH is always nice. MO and cascade. I go for about 4.5% and bittered to about 30 IBU,
Use plenty of late hops for a lovely aroma.

Seymour Citra Gold seems to be quite popular with people on here. I brewed it today but changed the recipe slightly.

No idea what it's like yet because I haven't brewed it, but this is in my current backlog for spring/summer:

Final Gravity (FG): 1.010 (°P): 2.6
Alcohol (ABV): 4.03 %
Bitterness (IBU): 25.0 (Average)
BU/GU Ratio: 0.61
73% Maris Otter Malt
15% Vienna
7% Carapils
5% Torrified Wheat
0.7 g/L Amarillo (8.2% Alpha) @ 90 Minutes (Boil)
0.7 g/L Amarillo (8.2% Alpha) @ 15 Minutes (Boil)
0.7 g/L Amarillo (8.2% Alpha) @ 20 Minutes (Aroma)
Single step Infusion at 66°C for 90 Minutes. Boil for 90 Minutes
Fermented at 20°C with Danstar Nottingham

How about 50% 2-row, 50% white wheat, and 20 IBUs of your favorite hop fermented with S-05?
This is also a good base for experimenting. I use it when I brew my coconut wheat recipe.

I'm just here for the beer.

Got to love Amarillo, terrific aroma hop, I also like Galaxy. MO and some aromatic malt and some Vienna gives it a bit of malty backbone to compliment the rather in your face hops, 5% apiece of the last two and dry hop, dry hop and you won't lift your nose from that heady concoction.

I am "The Little Red Brooster"
Fermenting:
Conditioning:
Drinking: Southwold Again,
Up Next: John Barleycorn (Barley Wine)
Planning: Winter drinking Beer
