Planning on a Pale ale hopped with Citra and Nelson Sauvin. Anyone done a beer with this combination? Any ideas on quantities?
I know I am being vague, just want some inspiration!
Citra and Nelson Sauvin
Re: Citra and Nelson Sauvin
I made a Citra and Nelson pale ale earlier this year - a delicious, summery, fragrant drink. From memory (I am not near my brew log): 24l, 6kg maris otter, 200g each of Carapils and Caragold, Hops.at 60, 20, 15, 10 and 5 mins (50 ibu total alternating Citra then Nelson) 70g drop hop (50/50) for.a week.
The only criticism (barely a issue but if I was.going to do it again I'd made it differently ) is it wasn't bitter enough when you love a really bitter/tangy aipa, but the citrus gooseberry fruitiness more than made up for it.
My wife and her friends loved it. I really enjoyed it. Nice summer beer

If I was going to do it differently I'd bitter with something bitter (Chinook maybe) and use the fragrant hops for late additions and a whirlpool / hopstand.
