My attempt at a Heff using the Red X malt. I don't expect it to be red but hoping for a nice colour to it.

Re: Redweisen
Don't think I've had a red wheat beer yet. Do report back even though it's probably a bit lighter.
Busy in the Summer House Brewery
Re: Redweisen
Will do, I am going to mash in tonight and let the BM run overnight (will just keep it on the last step at 73c until ready) and finish up tomorrow. I have had decent results with Red X on some ales before though that was at 100% of the grain bill.
Forgot to add I am using Danstar Munich and not liquid for this brew.

Re: Redweisen
Just chilled down and took a post boil reading. The colour looks ok, it is more brown but has a tinge of it in the light. Will post another pic when I get this to glass.

Re: Redweisen
Yeah to be fair I am happy with the colour, was a bit underwhelmed with the batch when tasting last night which probably showed on my post. I did carb it in the keg and have now hooked up to the keezer. It may get a bit better over time however it seems to be missing that something. Anyways not all bad and it still very drinkable
