Recipe from my brain

Post by SiHoltye » Sun Aug 19, 2007 6:14 pm

Hello.

Is there anything 'wrong' with this recipe do we think. I'm after a Best Bitter and I like London Pride, and Harveys Sussex, so caramel flavours are good. I took a base of Pale Malt, added crystal for caramel flavour, wheat for head retention, and used EKG 'cos they're so revered. The calcs are of my own doing do maybe they're out. Any help appreciated.

Looks good to me. You will be getting quite an intense caramel sweetness from the crystal, but theres also a lot of bitterness so it should turn out fairly balanced. If anything, I would personally cut down the amount of dark crystal closer to 10% of the total grain.
