Their arrogance and bloody mindedness will be the undoing of the project.

Not wanting to sell to a supmermarket chain because they didnt feel the product was up to scratch, rather than taking the comments on board. This coupled with their crusade to change the nations choice of beer to what they think is best for us - frightning !

I wont be funding their whim.

I bought a bottle of the Blond Ale from Tesco, was ok, but then i had a pint of my JHB clone and that was much better!!

The colour of the bottled ale seemed darker than any pint of it you see on the programme.
Drinking: Double IPA (Mr President Clone)
Drinking: London Porter (5%)
Drinking: Belgian Dubbel (8%)
Conditioning: West Coast Red (5.6%)
Conditioning: Nelson & Friends Series No.1 (Mosaic)
FV: A few spiders
Planning: Everything else!

My guess is that the crew got peed orf with them too. It is very unusual for professionals to let a programme go out like that. Mind you, it was Jamie Oliver's production company - perhaps they need a bit more practice at this TV production lark.

Morrissey seems to be trading off his men behaving badly image. seem to remember there were other people in that series - what happened to them... oh yeah, they grew up and went onto more successful things.

Wifey bought me a couple of bottles of their [sic] blond ale. Utter shite, tipped both bottles down the sink after a quick sip. Tastes like flat Carling. Bottles will come in useful though. A fellow shooter oop north has told me that their Best Bitter gave everyone the sh*ts. The cocksure twatz deserve nothing less than a good beating :D

Say it as it is Subsub, don't hold back =D>

A direct quote from their website; "we’ve actually graduated from home-brew rookies to master-brewers" :^o

I wouldn't be at all surprised, I don't think the freeholder of the pub was far of the mark.

Perhaps they're happy with the prospect of the £££s rolling in from the supermarket sales.

Seems to say the pub is still going.
It’s our bonfire party tonight, so the kitchen staff have been preparing lots of outdoor food. Chef’s doing warm pork pies and peas (or Lancashire caviar, as they call it up here), and this absolutely brilliant terrine-style black pudding and mash wrapped in bacon (which is baked, sliced and then fried). Elsewhere we've been busy organising the plastic trays, making sure that all the right people are there, and letting the authorities know what’s going on.

We've also been getting the Christmas ale on; it went into cask a few days ago, so I'm hoping it's on the bar when I get to the pub in about half an hour. Hopefully it will be, because the more beer we sell from our own brewery, the more profit we make. And we've just finalized the recipe for our best bitter, at the seventh attempt – it’s an absolute cracker. We're going to start pushing that in the next couple of weeks.

Well, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks but this thread finally made me pull out my finger and register.

The MF programs were a real double-edged sword for us. On the one had it has inspired me to get back into brewing after a break of about 15 years (shame I gave away all my stuff a decade ago...). That prog was my first glimpse of a corni keg and made me point and say "wow - what is that?" (erm, is that a bit sad?).

On the other hand M & F came across as such a pair of tw*ts that at one point my wife said "somehow I'm not sure I want these two to succeed".

I've tried the blonde ale from Tesco. It's not bad but it is not exceptional and was easily the most expensive bottle on the shelf at £1.89. This was a couple of weeks ago before the series had finished so maybe Tesco will be discounting it to take advantage of the publicity. Shame the publicity is so, um, mixed....

Let's face it, you have to be a real idiot, or pair of idiots, to screw up a product launch package that includes 3 hours coverage on a mainstream TV channel.

Anyway, enough prattling. I'm off to prepare a list of stuff for Santa to bring me.

Edit:

Just looked at that Daily Mail article. Is there a less attractive way to photograph a pint than this?:
