It's considered quite rude not to have a pint with your breakfast in my household!

I had a pint of Deuchars IPA last week at Heathrow. Nice beer. Surprisingly well kept too. I might well use this recipe for my next batch so I'd be interested in hearing how it turns out.

It was a tradition in most breweries for the Brewers Breakfast,Sausages Eggs, bacon etc,and a couple of pints of beer. This has now been stopped because of Health and Safety and drinking in the workplace, has have brewery workers beer rations.

My understanding is that Fuller's now gives vouchers for the on site off-license instead of beer.

guys,

thanks for the input thus far. I understand the comment made about it not being very educational to make a first brew with such a variety of hops. Considering this, are there any brews (all grain) that you would reccomend for a first batch.

PS - My 8.8Kw gas burner arrived yesterday - its a beast......

still waiting on more kit before i can commence, so i have plenty of time to think recipe ideas over

For a few months in the early 80's, I ran a real ale bar. I considered it part of my responsibilites BEFORE breakfast to make sure the eleven real ales in my care had survived the night

about 8.30am. thats about the time i give up trying to lie in as my wife has stomped about about, had a shower, done her make up with the all the lights on in the bed room and the radio booming just for good measure before going to work. :x

its round about then that all my good intentions of doing house work/gardening go out the window as well. :D

Free accomadation, beer and food but wages were neglegible. As far as I can remember, we had Directors, Hook Norton, Holdens Bitter, Simpkiss Bitter, Old Peuliar, 6x, Wadworths Old Timer, Pedigree and Highgate Mild. It's amazing that I can still remember that. I can't remember all the barmaids names though - I don't know what that says about me!
