It certainly hasn't been discontinued, I had a pint at the Marble Arch a couple of weeks ago. Hoping someone can chime in with some more info on this as I'd love to try brewing something similar.JammyBStard wrote:I love the stuff, I think it's pretty much the perfect beer. I havn't had one in a whle and I've just fornd a few references to it been disscontinuedAnyone know if this is true? I emailed the brewery to check.
Seymour I found this reference to it on the internet (so it must be true)
"Classic "British style" IPA albeit with a touch of toasted malt in there too"
I'd love to know how to make the stuff!

Green Bullet and NS seems to be the accepted hop bill.
Maybe some amber malt for the biscuit flavour?

I was in the Marble beer house last night. I had a half of Pint, which was even paler than usual but pretty good. I enjoyed it. And I had a half of the Earl Grey IPA, which was excellent, but I have not had it before so can't compare. The new head brewer does have some hard acts to follow, I hope he can continue the good work there, Marble has helped to change the scenery since its appearance back in the 90s.

Early Grey is a cracking pint. Had a 750ml bottle (with champagne cork) on New Years Eve. Was a brilliant drink to see the new year in!
Re: Marble Dobber
Wouldn't go anywhere near Nottingham yeast for recreating marble beers if I were you. Safale 05 is a much better choice. Don't know if they use cascade in dobber but they are certainly keen on using it in some of their other beers such as pint.

My references are that they use Nelson Sauvin and Green Bullet hops.Mattpc wrote: Don't know if they use cascade in dobber

Re: Marble Dobber
You can culture this extraordinary yeast straight from a bottle of Dobber. Why would you use anything else for a clone?
