Tomahawk Imperial India Pale Ale (Now with more hops)
Re: Tomahawk Imperial India Pale Ale
Perfect, scottish engineering at its best. Forth road Bridge, Falkirk Wheel, Pah! Bring on the timber and nail.
Re: Tomahawk Imperial India Pale Ale
Indeed.

A close up and far away shot of the great work...

A picture of my exellent push together hamed up silicone tube/copper pipe/syphon tubing connections. Pushed on to the big syhpon tubing a la picture one it is very water tight I rescirulated for an hour starting at boiling and it worked great. No hint of a leak.

The fridge I got today that is soon to be my fermenting chamber as soon as the TC-10 and ceramic bulb arrive.

Is there such a thing as overdoing the hops?
I have just bought some very cheap Cascade....
Thoughts folks?

Re: Tomahawk Imperial India Pale Ale
It all depends on how bitter you want it and how long you are willing to wait for it to mellow if its a bit ott at the start. So IMHO, no!
Re: Tomahawk Imperial India Pale Ale (Now with more hops)
Not much more bitter.
100g of cascade added though. What do you think? Was reading about a Pliny the younger clone that had 3 x 3(1.25oz/35g) dry hop additions, 300+g of dry hops mmm. Got all excited.

I'm sure it will be a cracker! How long do you plan to dry hop for?
Re: Tomahawk Imperial India Pale Ale (Now with more hops)
I think I am going to do two rounds a week with each. In two hop bags. 155g of dry hops is the most I have ever put in a beer. The smaller bags are going to hopefully get a better level of utilisation out of them.pantsmachine wrote:I'm sure it will be a cracker! How long do you plan to dry hop for?
Going to weight them then tie a bit of string so I can move them about and lift them out when I am done. I think I am going to be slightly paranoid with the sanatisation of this guy. Too many hops could potentially go to waste.
