Flaked wheat is important for the very pale colour, malted wheat makes it look more like a German hefeweizen

Yeah, it will be a couple of shades darker than if you had used flaked wheat though, not that it matters!

Will give you more of a German flavour (which I prefer)

US-05 will give you an american wheat, which taste similar to a non distinct lager (or did when I made it)

Or you can do what I did recently split the batch
Half US-05 for lager drinkers
Half WB-06 for the wheat beer drinkers (lower temp for less clove 17-18oC)
Fermenter(s): Lambic, Wheat beer, Amrillo/Cascade Beer
Cornys: Hobgoblin clone, Four Shades Stout, Wheat Beer, Amarillo/Cascade Ale, Apple Wine, Cider, Damson Wine, Ginger Beer

Now thats an idea!

Any thougts on my proposed hopping schedule? Would I be able to do a split brew with different yeasts and keep the same US style hopping?

Cheers!

I just did one single hop addition at the beginning, but you could do US style hopping (would make an over the top bitterness, wheat beer with the WB-06 though)
No harm in giving it a go though.

But you could ** thinking out loud here **
Add one lot of bittering hops boil for 60 minutes, drain half, cool pitch wb-06
Carry on boiling second half do as many hop additions as you like and cool, then pitch US-05
A bit of a faff
But possible if you have the equipment and time.

Or is there any reason you cant do this?
Apart from the wort being a slightly darker colour

Might have to try it on my next batch
