Liberty ale can be quite variable, same goes for a lot of US imports, hoppy beers don't age too well.

Like you say, it could be an issue with it being transported and not aging well. The hops themselves smell lovely so I might as well just risk it.

After all the advice I've had on this thread it would be a bit rude to do a big U-turn right at the end!
