Stumpyb that recipe looks good to me :-D

Let us know how it turns out! Have you tried the Darkstar beer yourself to compare it?

Just poured the first pint of this. By far the best beer i have brewed, SWMBO says its like 5am saint (possibly the citra?) with an herby aftertaste. I think GOOD. This is also the first beer I have brewed with my herms setup and fermenting fridge. From anothe post I made i forgot the protofloc so i added some gelatine finings as it wass all i had then dropped the fridge temp to 0.5degC. It has come out perfectly clear. I wish i had tried the darkstar beer before as this is right up my street and if it is anything like this it may become my favourite pub pint!

I've just found out (in one of my ales) that cascade and citra work very, very well together :D

Finally brewed this at the wknd

23lts 73% efficiency
OG 1057, FG 1012
1 pkt of US05, 1 of S04, hydrated and mixed evenly across 2 buckets (i actually brewed 35 litres but scaled down to post). I once heard the brewery used a US05/So4/Nottingham mix as their yeast

5.5kg Maris Otter

Boil - 50IBU
60mins Magnum 16g
45mins Magnum 16g
20mins Magnum 16g

Aroma
A mix of 60g Centennial, 30g Cascade, and 40g Citra, blended and then deployed
30g 5minutes
40g 0 Flameout
60g 0 minutes (80c)
Whirlpool for 20mins whilst cooling

70g Dry Hops after 7 days (yet to decide what these are, probably more CITRA :-)

What do people think?

I'll post back once I taste it, its my first brew in 5months due to building work at the house so I hope i've cleaned all my kit properly!

Tasted this last night out of the FV after 10 days.....AMAZING! The hop profile was superb, and the balance of the bitterness was bloody perfect.

Added 70gs of Citra dry hop and set the fridge to cold!

Cant wait to bottle and keg this one.

How was this after a period of time in the bottle?

I quite fancy doing an extract version of this as it sounds lovely
