Petrus Golden Tripel

Just drank this bottle. Its good. I prefer the sweeter Tripels, Karmeliet is my favourite, and this falls into that category. I'm not so keen on the drier more alcoholic Westmalle Tripel and similar.

I couldn't detect any oak character so you should be fine without the chips. It has a huge amount of Esters and Phenols though, as is typical of many Belgians.

I've got a bottle of Petrus Old Bruin too, so I'll have to give that a try at some point.
