Citra IPA
Re: Citra IPA
I did a citra smash last year and it was amazing. I did not add any buttering additions, mashed at66. From memory for 50l batch I added 50g at 15,10,5 and 80c flame ou and a wack of dry hops. 'twas like mango juice! Not really an ipa tho...
Re: Citra IPA
I'm leaning towards a Smash with MO myself - not bothered whether it's an IPA particularly but have also developed a fondness for the M&S Citra IPA so I'm just looking for something in the ballpark of a hoppy pale ale with all the late additions as Citra.
Still sorting out how I need to scale late additions/steeps on my setup. Chilling in a cold water bath I suspect that because the temperatures are not dropping quickly anything at 15 or 10 minutes is getting a far longer contact time at a higher temperature than that time would suggest. I'll be playing with moving those additions later on my next brew.

Re: Citra IPA
It turned out great - probably could have done with a few less grammes for flameout and dry hop.DaveGillespie wrote:Bump - Jymbo, how did this turn out?
