Edit the punk also uses different hops than that.
Well we know that now!

It was the best beer I ever made, I'm going to do it again soon, but bigger; I call it Uber Bitter

Yeah Chinook doesn't seem right, although I thought it was Cascade, I was way off

Ahtanum is a bit cascade-y...but different. I guess that's the flavour hop with Chinook as the dry hop. I'm trying to see where the Sauvin fits in....Bittering and flavour?

I think a clone might be on the cards at some point...

I wouldn't have guessed Nelson Sauvin, I don't taste the Blackcurrant at all, 60 or 30 minutes maybe?

They must have changed the recipe surely? Haven't Nelson Sauvin only been available in this country for about a year? I'm sure I remember some other brewery quite recently publicising they were first to market with a Nelson Sauvin beer in the UK.

Last Punk I drank I thought it had changed a bit, but that could also be my palate having gotten used to hoppier beers so it's hard to be sure.

It seems odd to use Nelson Sauvin unless you're using it for some sort of flavour contribution as there's much cheaper ways of getting alpha. It doesn't taste NS-ey to me either.

There is another download on their site that says something different

http://www.brewdog.com/media/downloads/ ... sheets.pdf

For Punk IPA it says Chinook, Crystal, Motueka - From the flavour I'd believe this one more.

And the SG is 1.052 ? :?

So it finishes at 1.006...? Doesn't taste like it, there seems like a fair amount of sweetness to me

That sort of attenuation is not out of the realms of possibility if you use US-05 and mash low. I've got into the 80's with that yeast and a 64C mash temp. That sort of attenuation is similar to Coopers Sparkling Ale.

Didn't finish at 1006 on the sheets, said 1010. They have a sheet of fv's whats in them and the stage they are fermenting at. At the point where they chill to drop the yeast out the punk was at 1010. So was the punk they made with belgian yeast which they were dry hopping with chinnook.

As far as I remember.

So it's 1.056 - 1.010 with around 81% attenuation. Seems more like it.

So they're doing a Belgian IPA? Very nice.

I think the Belgian IPA is likley to be a one or mabye two off. They are basically propigating yeast for the collaberation beer they did with stone, which tasted kick ass.

Tasted pretty nice, but for whatever reason the brewer I was with decided to blast some CO2 to rouse the hops just before he gave me a drink so it was somewhat bitty.
