Guys

You are all very welcome, and the thanks are also mine for your orders. Really appreciated.

Vossy -might take me a time to persuade swmbo that something other than flowers might be a good idea :D I have learnt over time that no item in the brewers cupboard is suitable armour for an irate spouse. (although an inverted burco boiler placed over head and shoulders does a reasonable job) :=P
So many new ales to try and brew up now.....Wolf is going to be high on the list I know that much.

Daab - am still looking for the recipes in a similar style, but hope to fw recipes for the boilup kits we made & sold in the shop in the interim if they are of any use.
cheers & best regards

I am going to make a beer tomorrow from Marc Ollosons Real Ales that i have given a few tweaks here goes.
Orkney Raven ( 1045 Ayrshire vertion )
Pale Malt 4.750g
Chocolate 45g
Crystal Malt 130g
T / Wheat 170g
Hops 22 EBU
Challenger 44g 60 min
Styrian Golding 18g 15 min
I have rounded mine up to 110 Litres think i will mash at 67oc 20g Flaked Calcium Chloride to enhance malt flavour & stop the sparge early with refractometer 1015.I should still get 75 % efficiency as i can normally get 85 %. Might dry hop with some Styrian Goldings if it's needed. Hope this is a nice one with my tweaks

Bigster

Last Chance Bitter p 130
100% satisfaction p110
Parish Special p72

Out of the 3 I'd probably stump for 100% first.

Hope this is of some help.

Thanks Marc for a top book delivered so quickly. How did my girls know what I wanted for Fathers Day!
I have just had a quick flick through and the recipe for Flowers IPA is worth the price of the book on its own. Me and my mates used to drink Flowers IPA during our first outings to pubs when we were 16/17, all on Yamaha FS1Es with the baffles taken out wearing leather jackets and jumpers knitted by our grannies. Heady days of youth.
The First and Last at Sennen had a good pint and a big fire and a barmaid that would serve us!
I'm welling up
Thank you again, great book.

I wonder how they knew

Glad it arrived ok.

Yamaha Fizzy eh? My that does bring back some memories.

Flowers always was a top notch pint, even if a pub served it badly it was still good.
There was a little pub in Hoddesdon (just up & opp from the Rising Sun) which used to serve a lovely pint of it, was rather hard to find in Wales though for some reason.

Anyway as I said glad it arrived ok, hope you brew some great ales.

cheers

Gents

I am hols in a few hours, so if anyone does order between now and when I get back please bear\ with me on getting books sent out.

Also a daft question, which I hope can be answered before I go off tonight....I have just had a £6.25 BACS payment arrive in my account with NO reference to it - my bank is going to take a few days to find out who sent it.
Obviously @ £6.25 it's a forum member.....so if you have just paid by BACS I simply don't know who you are.

If you are the person who ordered then I won't be able to post until I get back.....sorry
cheers & best regards

Hi mate

It does contain basic instructions, if you are considering brewing with extract then I'd say you'd be ok - however if all grain brewing then the instructions are quite concise, they just say do this task in this order etc - no reasons as to why it is done that way (which some people find builds confidence in what they are doing)

But yep, contains easy to follow instructions.

Just heard from the publisher today.
They have reached the end of the print run and are having doubts over republishing, will endeavour to find out tomorrow how many are left and to see if there is anything I can do to keep it in print.

I'll keep you advised on how it's going.
cheers & best regards

Marc
