Excellent. Also first time I've measured and adjusted PH. Interested to see how it turns out.

Black Stuff

Well, I bought a semi-decent PH meter after a recommendations on Jims, and adjusted it so it was accurate.
When I went to the Homebrew shop for the items to adjust the mash, the owner sold me Five Star 5.2 at a cheap price. I'm a big fan of five star PBW and Starsan, but something about 5.2 just didn't add up, seemed too good to be true and too easy. Thought I would give it a go.
Worked a treat on black stuff, but my 10 min into mash starting PH was fairly close anyway, but it did adjust to 5.2. One great outcome I did find was my BM was much much easier to clean. Usual gunk wasn't stuck to element.
I'll reserve judgment on the 5.2 until I brew a beer with less dark grains, to see if it really can level everything to 5.2.

I am looking forward to trying the beer, as my numbers are bang on regarding OG.
