Igloo sell something similar. You can get them from Recarda.co.uk . As you say - expensive. The 5 gallon yellow one is £36.99 and the 10 gallon £55.99. I think our US friends would freak out if they had to pay over $100 for a drinks cooler...
Heck yes I would! :shock: Sorry guys, that's too bad. For us in the states, my system is the cheapest and easiest, I would say. The cooler cost $19.95, and the total cost after modification was about $30. I got the extra 5 gallon pot free, too, because it was slightly damaged in shipping.

You win! If ever you guys feel bad about not being able to get something mass produced at a very low price, take solace in the fact that you can find something authentic (ie the LandLord) much more easily than we can. :wink:

When I visit you can take me out for a pint. And when you visit me I'll send you home with a cooler! :lol:

Hmmm. Possible bad news. Racked the TTL to another carboy to let it fall bright, but it had a strong sulfur smell to it. It may be infected. I used Nottingham yeast, and have never had a sulfuric result with that strain before. Temperature wise, it fermented mostly at 64F in my freezer, but when I pitched it was probably around 90F. The freezer cooled it down within 6-10 hours I would guess, but maybe that wasn't fast enough. :(

We'll see. I'm going to give it a week or so in the bright t. and see what it's like.

Monk, my guess is that the beer is not infected, but that the rise in temp threw some sulfur aroma. Age that brew for a while and then keg/bottle as normal, I bet you won't be disappointed! :wink:

I agree with the "should be good" prognosis. I've had some stinkers turn out fine.

Glad to hear it, guys. Thanks for the encouragement. Speaking of which, I was just sitting next to the carboy last night, whispering sweet nothings to the brew, just to let it know that it's loved... :lol:

The strength of the aroma may have been bolstered by a great hop aroma. Minus the sulfur, it may turn out to be quite aromarrific, or terrifomatic, depending on your perspective.
