Good man tribs. I do like a drop of Black Sheep so might have to give this a try.

Is there a particular style of rice that is recommended for brews? - ie basmati etc??

I noticed a recipe for Theakston Best in Dave Line's book which I also fancy as that's a lovely drop too :beer

Sorry eskimobob. I've amended the above. Its rice hulls, which is like the shells. I think its only there because there is a large proportion of torified wheat. It makes it a bit sticky and the rice hulls help make the mash more manageable.

Ok, thanks - where would I buy rice hulls? - or oat hulls for that matter? Are they something obvious that I am familiar with or are the the bits that are removed from rice during manufacture??

I can't seem to find rice or oat hulls on H&G site <_<

Got it tribs, thanks :D

Perhaps I should have remembered the old saying:

Tribs, you have just became my new hero, Black Sheep is one of my favourites! Regarding the oat husks, do they have an extraction value? If so could you please let me know what it is as this has become a "must do" brew for me.
