Stout

Post by Mashman » Thu May 08, 2008 4:58 pm

Hope to brew a stout tomorrow. I was hoping to do another PoP's or try the Fireside Stout which looks equally good. Problem is I don't have required grains to follow either recipe exactly. My entire grain store is;

Pale 8kg
0.5kg Chocolate malt
0.3kg Roast Barley
0.5kg Carapils
0.4kg Flaked Barley

I thought about chucking everything in- for 40lt

Any comments on the above. How about calling it Mrs Hubbards Stout - as in empty cupboard :)

Plenty of hops to choose from though

I wouldn't put in 500g carapils. Apart from that I'd say you'd be alright.
I got 1050 including all 500g so you'd be just under that...

That amount of choc and roast barley should be fine in 40L...
