ok here is my stock list, im brewing today and i want a stout, soooo

we have loads of pale malt
1 kg roasted barley
1.5 kg chocolate malt
1 kg black malt
500g carapils
500g caramalt

i only have 1 full packet of challenger 113g aa 5.6%

anyone got a recipe to follow using some of the above for a 50 litre brew length :D as far as taste goes i think murphys stout tastes a lot nicer than guiness

sorry, probably a bit late but here is a variation on Hop Backs stout using your ingredients, it is a bit light on the hops, so if you do have any more bung 'em in with the Challenger to up the bitterness a bit. and they should be boiled for 90 not 60 as it the form says, to extract as much as you can from them.

the only change I made to the grain bill was I omited Flaked Barley and replaced it with your Carapils, they do similar things, more body and head retention.
