Satan's Folly-Red Ale

Brewing a special Halloween beer. I bring you the Folly of the dark Lord, aka Satan's Folly!

81% US 2 row-Nice malt. Cross between Harrington and Triumph(supplier was out of the MG variety!)
8.1% Munich malt
4.9% 120L crystal
4% special roast(similar to brown malt)
2% carapils
yeast: old pal, safale-05
S.G. 1.055 F.G. 1.008-1.010

I do sixty minute boils. I won't start adding the hops until 30 minutes. Then, the wort will get pulverized with a combo of Amarillo and Centennial for the remaining 30 minutes. I've found this method works well if you like soft bitterness, with a great amount of hop flavor. I am looking for a very red beer. I may need to add a small amount of chocolate malt when I sparge to get the right colour. Brewing it on Saturday. I'll take pics.

Cheers, Whorst

Mmm. Sounds good, Whorst. I'm planning a halloween brew myself, amber and very malty, I hope. Then a pumpkin ale for drinking around Thanksgiving.
