Sign of Spring

Post by Parva » Sun Dec 07, 2008 3:39 am

Hi guys, I've emailed the guys that make this but can't see me getting an answer. http://www.stonehengeales.co.uk/sign_of_spring.html

Yep, it's green but it's a fantastic ale. Don't suppose anyone's tried it and better yet has a recipe that includes the bit that turns the beer green?

It will be just food colouring.

Maybe it's just a lager and lime, heavy on the lime [-X

I've had a reply from the master brewer. :)

We use First Gold and Goldings hops and a green food colouring similar to
the food colours you can buy in the supermarkets.

Thank you for supporting our brewery.

So I must get hold of some First Gold and some green food colouring. :) It looks wierd but it's a lovely brew. And yes, I know I could make it a normal blonde ale with the same taste but the green look is just unique. :)

This is due in at my local this weekend - so ready for drinking next week...(?)

I actually quite like the taste but I do think the green colour is a bit gimicky....

I like First gold and may try a blonde mixing in with some Goldings...
Any suggestions on a hopping shecdule?

:)
Guy
