I have some old Brambling Cross (though it's been in the freezer since opening) as well as some old Northern Brewer.
I'm tempted to use the Brambling Cross in a porter (maybe along with N. Brewer if I'm short on IBUs) - anyone tried this or got any good recipe ideas? (I was thinking pale, munich, crystal, chocolate, black as a grain bill in some form - unfortunately don't have brown malt...)
EDIT: How does this sound? Unsure on the hop additions really (the hops were 5.6 and 7% originally but have guessed at 4% and 5%
4kg 200g Pale
500g Munich
300g Crystal
250g Chocolate
200g Black patent
40g Brambling Cross (4% AA, 60 min.)
25g Northern Brewer (5% AA, 60 min.)
30g Brambling Cross (4% AA, 15 min.)
OG 1050; IBU ~34 (complete guess based on how much the hops have aged - I've really no idea what they will come out like, as I don't know their bitterness

The rest of the Northern Brewer will make it's may into a 7:2:1 stout I think so no problems with shifting that

Cheers
