Hi,
This is my first recipe post, and I just wanted to comment on a batch of Old Brewery Bitter I have just made according to Norman's recipe (I used S0-4 yeast but might use Nottingham in future?). I took a punt on this beer as I was just looking for a recipe to use up some hops in the freezer as well as having the right amount of pale/crytsal malt in my stock. Bottom line is that I'm really pleased I did, it has turned out to be a great bitter with a fantastic balance between hop and malt flavours. Importantly, the reduction of un-hopped wort into a syrup (according to the method posted by Norman) gave a really nice (but subtle) toffee flavour to the beer. This is one recipe that I have included in my own recipe book for future brews.
Cheers
Matt

Does anyone know if it would be possible to produce an extract version of this recipe and if so, if I could convert it using the free trial of Beersmith?
