Re: Boxshed Hop Juggler (BHJ)
Interesting hop combination. What do you think of Willamette? I've used them in 2 brews now and quite like them.

Re: Boxshed Hop Juggler (BHJ)
They're basically American Fuggles, aren't they. I've never used them before. These came from CraftBrewer. But I like that citrus/spice/grassy taste in commercial pale ales, so wanted to try it out. The pellets sadly don't give me the same preview of the aroma in the copper that whole cones do though. I tried to explain my thinking during the brewday report. What do you think of Willamette? I'm hoping the bitterness of the Challenger and the dryness of the mash will set it up to work well with the Mount Hood late addition. But it's half guesswork and half informed by commercial brewing, I guess!
Re: Boxshed Hop Juggler (BHJ)
I haven't done a direct comparison with Fuggle, nor have i done a single hop brew with Willamette, but they do seem to lend fuggle type character and to my recollection some orange citrus, by that i mean a sweet kind of citrus more than anything, not a grapefruit/lemon type citrus.
Keep us updated, i do like the look of that recipe.

Re: Boxshed Hop Juggler (BHJ)
Yes, if I had to compare the FV smell to any fruit, it would probably be pineapple.
