Anyone got this book?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/059529720X

It's been mentioned as a possible pressie. It's not my birthday so Christmas must be coming in the next few months as a lot of houses nearby have sprouted flashing lights

I have not got it but note that you can get it so much cheaper as an E -book which you then download straight to your PC. I think it was for $6 !!

Im all for new technology IMBM, but I would prefer something more tactile, for eg, what could be better than listening to a good vinyl recording with the valves seductively glowing in the corner of the room, a glass of single malt at you side while you read the sleeve notes, certainly not login on to itunes and reading them on the screen, it would ruin a good malt :)

I've not got it, but you can look at it online, which I've done (I wanted to find what was in Harveys Sussex Best). You have to flick through it page by page which takes an age on their online sample edition, but of course you can buy the e-eddition for only $6 and I think it is probably worth the money.

Basically it combined all the information from CAMRA Real Ale Almanacs; it is NOT a recipe book - you have to come up with your own recipes from the information that the brewery has supplied (which is sometimes not a huge amount to go on). It is also slightly out of date - Deuchars was said to only contain fuggles and goldings IIRR. Nevertheless, worth $6 I would say, and it makes quite interesting reading.
