Shepperd Neame 1698
Re: Shepperd Neame 1698
Not a recipe, but this is from the Shepherd Neame website, maybe someone that knows what they are doing will be able to sort something
The rigorous selection of the finest ingredients makes 1698 a distinctively Kentish beer.
Underpinning the tang of Kent hops are malty, toffee, butter and sultana flavours, arising from the Kent-grown Pearl malted barley and crystal malt.
A dark, amber colour, the beer's characteristics are finely balanced by three separate additions of the choicest Kentish hops. Target hops are added at the start of the boil, to give a clean, hoppy bitterness, while East Kent Golding hops are added at the end to impart more complex flavours. Finally, even more Goldings are added after the beer is transferred to the whirlpool, to produce a pronounced, uniquely Kentish aroma.
