Elgoods Black Dog

Post by dcq1974 » Wed Jul 22, 2009 2:14 pm

Hi All
I've been looking for a recipe for Elgood's Black Dog for ages.

Apart from Pale, website says that it is based on Crystal and Roasted Barley with Fuggles as only hops (bet there is some late in there).

As this is Black Red or trad dark mild in colour, what does everyone think with regards to grist makeup? With the colour that it is do we think 20% crystal? Could they also be adding black malt? Not listed on the website but that doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't added.

Any ideas on EBU. I guess around 25 for a traditional dark milk.

Any info/comments appeciated before brewing atempt at the weekend.

:D
