clone usa recipes

Post by hop-off » Sat Aug 01, 2009 12:35 pm

Does anyone know if there are any recipes (or books with the recipes in them) here in the UK for the beers of Sam Adams, Brooklyn, Avery and Alaskan beers. I have enjoyed some of the ales from these breweries and would really like to brew some of them.
The specific beers are:
Sam Adams: Brooklyn: Avery: Alaskan:
Boston Lager Black Chocolate Stout Mephistopholes Stout Smoked Porter
Boston Ale Brooklyner Wiesse The Beast In The Wood Winter Ale
Double Bock Brooklyn Lager Samael
Summer Ale Oktoberfest Maharaja I.P.A

Thank you for reading this.

I did a search for the choclate stout a while back and I have this saved on my computer:

"Beer Captured" has the following for Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout:

OG: 1.089
FG: 1.022
SRM: 100+
IBU: 47
ABV: 8.4%

14lb British 2-row
1lb US Wheat malt
15oz British chocolate malt
7oz British roasted barley
4oz flaked wheat
3oz British black patent malt
(90 minute mash @ 152F)

2.5oz EKG @ 90 minutes
0.5oz EKG @ 15 minutes
0.5oz Cascade @ 15 minutes
0.5oz Willamette @ 5 minutes
0.5oz Cascade @ 5 minutes

I noticed that my list became a little squashed and disorientated (I apologize, not my fault, honest  ) so I will (hopefully) make it a little easier on the eye this time.

Boston Beer Company (Sam Adams)
Sam Adams Boston Lager
Sam Adams Boston Ale
Sam Adams Double Bock
Sam Adams Summer Ale (recipe now given thanks to 6470zzy) :D

Avery:
Mephistopholes Stout
The Beast In The Wood
Samael
Maharaja I.P.A

Brooklyn:
Black Chocolate Stout (recipe now given thanks to Eadweard) :D
Brooklyner Wiesse
Brooklyn Lager
Brooklyn Oktoberfest

Alaskan:
Smoked Porter (recipe now given thanks to aceuass) plus one more :D
Winter Ale

Cheers everyone.

you could also do worse than checking out these US-Based recipe sites -

http://www.brew-monkey.com/
www.brew365.com
www.beerrecipes.org

be careful with those conversions, though.
