Hi
I am very new to all this although I have alot of theory on my side which I would love to put into practice.
Can anyone kindly give me a nice easy recipe for a good beer, maybe something that is commercially available, that a beginner would have a chance at?
I have a simple recipe for 'Timothy Taylors Landlord' but it only uses Goldings and Fuggles, I have seen another recipe that uses Styrian aswell...
Any suggestions would be very warmly welcomed!
Thanks
Paul

Re: Newbie Recipes?
Interesting website you've got there...??
I've been having a bit of a chat over here about Landlord, I've copy pasted the recipe for TTL in the thread, which does include Styrian Golding hops. You'd have to buy the current Graham Wheeler book for a more up-to-date recipe which is slightly different.

Re: Newbie Recipes?
A simple favourite of mine is Conistone Bluebird Bitter
which goes something like this.
3500g MO Pale Malt
170g Crystal Malt
25g Boadica @ 60 mins AA5.6% 14.61 IBU
30g Boadica @ 30 mins AA5.6% 13.88 IBU
20g Boadica @ 20 mins AA5.6% 7.30 IBU
Total IBU`s 36
I use Boadica but original recipe calls for Challenger but i find it easier for me to get
Boadica.

Re: Newbie Recipes?
Thanks for both of those replies.
The recipe I have got from GW's book is from the 1995 edition, like I say it only uses MO malt with Fuggles and Goldings. I May well try the Conistone bitter one, looks like another simple recipe.
Will let you know how I get on!
Thanks again
