i am looking for ideas !
i tried the meantime coffee porter last week ,it was exquisite and now would like to have a bash at making one !
I have plenty of roast and pale malts ,yeast and pheonix and cascade hops from paul(bb) but would probably use the cascade for a single varietal ipa though i do have what looks to be a good harvest of cascade, bramx and challenger on the horizon.
but what i really dont know is where the coffee/mocha choc flavour is going to come from .i.e. late additions of coco powder and coffee grindings ?
any help would be gratefully recieved !
cheers
coffee porter

Re: coffee porter
You got an espresso machine (or know anyone with one)? This is the best way to add coffee flavour, straight to the keg or secondary. Boiling coffee grinds isn't the best way to make coffee and I doubt would give satisfactory results.
The chocolate notes will probably be from chocolate malt.
