Greene King Rayments Recipe wanted

Post by Hoodlum » Sat Jan 16, 2010 11:19 pm

Has anyone got a recipe for Greene King Rayments they might like to share? (Conscious it wasn't strictly a "Greene King" Brew..)

Many thanks :)

Just looked in The Home Brewers Recipe Daterbase, it list malt bill of Halcyon, Pipkin and Puffin pale malts, to an OG. og 1040. And Challenger, Northdown and Target hops, IBU 26-9. Just need to know the proportions

Sadly not brewed anymore - I too loved it....

An internet search I did for even the basic bits of the recipe didn't come up with anything, so Dennis, thanks - we have start!

I have a full bottle (9 3/4 fl.oz)of Rayments Pelham Ale in the cupboard made in the Furneux Brewery. It has a picture of a jolly publican (I asssume) holding up a pint on the label. Pre dates Greene Kings takeover, any ideas of the age anybody?
Still looks clear, perhaps a taste test to see if I can recreate it.... thats assuming Peltham Ale was any good in the first place! I have never tried it.

blimey - that is old. Greene King took over the Furneux Brewery I think in 1928.

It might be worth writing to Greene King and asking for a clue. They'll certainly have the recipe in their archive and might even tell you.
