Hiya

Anyone got a steer / recipe for me on how to get close to Brewer's Gold?
Every time I'm lucky enough to get a pint I'm blown away, its delicious!

Well...the hops are brewers gold. The malt is probably Lager Malt. I've only drunk it once at the GBBF. It was very nice. Their Amarillo is also a very fine beer.

doh, of course... brewer's gold hops. That would be a good place to start 8)

Would it be a single-infusion mash though and none of this lager-style decoction business?

On a trip to the brewery a couple of weeks ago they said they do single infusion mashes for the lager malt based beers too.

As a first stab from a hazy memory of one pint I'd aim for 1.040 with mostly lager malt with perhaps a touch of caramalt (?). Hop with Brewers Gold for everything aim for around 30IBU. Big flavour and aroma hop additions.

According to Protz 300 it uses just lager malt, and Brewers Gold hops. 1040 would pretty smack on.
